Donna was born in Rochester, NY and received her comprehensive training under sponsorship with an internationally renowned staff at the prestigious Enid Botsford School. (Please see https://www.facebook.com/The-Enid-Botsford-Legacy-940786495957359/?ref=hl) Her formative training continued in New York City at the David Howard Dance Center and the Melissa Hayden School of Dance under full scholarships. After a long and successful career as a professional ballet dancer and a contemporary dancer in Europe and the US, Donna went on to develop an impressive portfolio of work as a guest teacher, choreographer, rehearsal director, and private mentor.
Over the last two decades, she has been a frequent guest teacher at leading American and European dance schools, festivals, and companies. She also taught at Millennium http://www.md2000.co.uk/ for over two years in London and was a guest teacher at other dance institutions in London. Her choreography has been commissioned and performed internationally.
After the birth of her son, she founded what was to become Ballet4life. Ballet4life.com® Her vision was to create an inspiring organisation that would pioneer top quality dance education for adults on a vocational level. Her first ballet class for adults was offered in January 2004 to a full studio at Rambert Dance Company's former building on Chiswick High Road. Over thirteen years later, Ballet4Life is a well established and thriving institution and has taught thousands of Londoners.
Donna also created the Dance for Early Stage Dementia Programme with Clarissa Rocha for Arts4 Dementia www.arts4dementia.org.uk. She founded, directs, and manages the Registered Charity 1172264 Move into Wellbeing www.moveintowellbeing.org.uk This Charity offers dance, movement, and exercise classes twice weekly for people with Parkinson's and other mobility restrictions. Autumn 2016 she and Clarissa also created and delivered the Dance & Movement 4 Mobility Programme for people with joint problems, joint replacements, arthritis, stiffness, and other general mobility inhibitions.
After 20 years Donna still resides in West London with her husband and son. She is an avid accomplished painter and photographer and has pieces of her work in private collections. Her artwork is commissioned and owned by many. Donna is a member of One Dance UK, People Dancing, and the Dance for Parkinsons UK Network. She has an Enhanced DBS check and PLI.
